Advertise Your Facebook Page Outside of Facebook

The Like Box is a social plugin that enables Facebook Page owners to attract and gain Likes from their own website. The Like Box enables users to:

  • See how many users already like this page, and which of their friends like it too
  • Read recent posts from the page
  • Like the page with one click, without needing to visit the page

Facebook Pages have made great strides with the like box in 2010. I would LIKE to see the like box take a step further to mimic the standard banner ad sizes such as 728×90, 468×60, 120×240, 300×250, 160×600…Don’t you think this would help brands advertise their Facebook Page outside of Facebook?

As marketers shift their efforts to increase Facebook Fans, it would be more beneficial for readers to indirectly like brands that have positive online reputations. Websites selling ad space with Facebook integration might even have a greater impact and higher fan conversion than flash ads…And WITHOUT the production expense so you can invest more in CPM or CPC.

As a consumer that reads online a lot, I would rather see if friends of mine “like” and trust the brand I’m reading about. The brand’s quality of social activity via their stream next to the article can further influence desire to follow socially responsive brands. Readers will be able to follow third party brands without ever leaving the article or website (win-win).
